Making his stage debut as a child in the late 1980's Neil grew up heavily involved in local amateur productions, Neil really found a love for singing, acting and performing which still remains to this day.

Neil's first love was musical theatre and having played many roles with the local theatre groups, Neil's amateur CV featured such roles as, Danny Zuko (Grease), Rooster (Annie), Joe (Some Like It Hot), Motel (Fiddler On The Roof), Nathan Detroit (Guys & Dolls), The Artful Dodger (Oliver), Bill Snibson (Me & My Girl) for which he won the 2000/01 NODA Award for best male performance in a musical and Joseph (Joseph & His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) a role he would sing again a few years later in London's West End.

Neil's first taste of the professional entertainer's life came in 1997 when Neil entered the ITV 'Talent Of Tomorrow' competition, when out of 12,000 auditionee's Neil took 2nd place as 'The Song And Dance Man'. It was here where Neil was tutored, given tips an encouragement from the legendary Bruce Forsyth. Further televsion opportunites arose including a 1998 appearance on 'Barrymore' dueting with his Mum and playing stooge to Michael Barrymore's antics.

Neil's first love of musical theatre was still firm on the agenda and when he successfully auditioned for the role of Jean Michel in a pro/am production of the musical 'La Cage Aux Folles' this subsequently led to other projects which excited Neil and helped him decide that this was the path his career was going to take.

In 2002 Neil made his West End debut when he was invited to appear in 'An Evening With Barbara Dickson' at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, he then went on to take the role of Magaldi and understudy to Peron in 'Evita'. It was during a backstage meeting with lyricist Sir Tim Rice that Neil's next engagement came about. Neil was invited to sing the role of Joseph (Joseph & His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat) in a series of concerts called 'An Evening With Sir Tim Rice' hosted by Sir Tim himself.

For Neil's next body of work he decided that he wanted to spend the summer back up north, nearer to home. This was a decision which would change his life forever. Neil was offered the 2005 summer season in Scarborough, it was during this seasn where he met his wife Emily and where he decided to stay.

Since arriving in Scarborough in 2005, Neil has found a new passion for variety theatre and keeping british seaside entertainment alive. He has played summer seasons all over the UK, Blackpool (North Pier & Blackpool Tower), Scarborough (The Futurist & The Spa Theatre), Folkestone (Leas Cliff Pavillion), Bridlington (The Spa Theatre & 3B's), Skegness (Embassy Theatre).

Neil has spent many an evening stood in the wings of a theatre learning his trade by simply watching some of the UK's greatest entertainers and also watching his childhood heroes become colleagues and friends. He has worked with and supported such stars as Bob Monkhouse, Michael Barrymore, Bruce Forsyth, Ken Dodd, Joe Pasquale, Jimmy Tarbuck, Jimmy Cricket, Cannon & Ball, The Bachelors, Johnnie Casson, Joe Longthorne, Frank Carson, Mick Miller, The Grumbleweeds, Barbara Dickson, The Chuckle Brothers, Bobby Knutt and most recently his good mate Billy Pearce.

Pantomime is also an important fixture in Neil's calender. Having appeared in pantomimes on 3 UK tours and resident in Manchester (Middleton Civic Hall), Leamington Spa (Royal Spa Centre), Warrington (Parr Hall), Scunthorpe (Plowright Theatre), Hunstanton (Princess Theatre - where Neil performed for various members of the royal family while they spent christmas at the Sandringham estate) and most recently topping the bill back in his home town of Halifax for the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Christmas season.

In 2010 Neil and Emily got married, but never one to miss a trick, and much to his new wife's dismay, Neil scheduled a couple of 'gigs' for the honeymoon. In April 2010, while on honeymoon Neil performed a set at the famous 'Sofia's Restaurant' on Broadway in New York, and a few days later another set at the 'Rock 'n' Roll' Cafe' on the Las Vegas Strip

Neil also runs his own small scale production company SHOWBIZ SOLUTIONS LTD through which he produces his own shows, 'The Musicals and MOre', 'The Golden Age Of The Musicals', 'The Good Ol' Days' and 'Sensational Swing' which play small venues to matinee audiences with the aim to encourage more people to use our country's little theatres and also to encourage older people to visit theatres on an afternoon. Showbiz Solutions Ltd also specialises in publicity design and print for theatre and cabaret venues.

Having played, at last count, over 400 venues in the UK alone Neil considers himself very lucky to be working in what is famously a very precarious business. Neil's real passions in life are now live theatre and his two daughters Katie and Aimee.
